UNIVERSE^® is designed to provide a unique lookup of Business Identifiers. It acts as an umbrella for the access of these Business Identifiers in trusted registers.
This system works in a very simple way:
Prefixing of the Business Identifers guarantees uniqueness. The prefixed identifiers then are transformed into a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) which can be looked up on the web.

1. Select the prefix for the appropriate identifier-scheme:
   Pull down to select 0002: French National Company Number (SIREN) 0060: Data Universal Numbering System (D-U-N-S® Number) 0085: Swiss Chambers of Commerce Scheme 0088: Global Location Number (GLN) 0151: Australian Business Number (ABN) Scheme 0154: Czech identification number of economic subjects (ICO) 0160: Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) 0166: Swissguide Identifier Scheme 0169: Swiss Central Business Names Index Number
2. Enter an identifer issued by the organization you selected at the first step:
